Great Restaurant!
We haven't been there since February and March '07, but it was excellent then. We are coming back February and March '08 and can't wait to go to Gianni's.    [06 Sep 2007 14:43:01]

Horrible Restaurant!
The WORST! If you want to dislike Aruba then go to Gianni. We had 8:30 reservations on New year's eve. First they couldn't find our reservations, one member of my party had to go back to the hotel to get the printed reservation-then they believed us- they said they would sit us soon (that was already 9 PM). We did not get seated until 10:30 and that was because we just sat ourselves down at an empty table. We should have left, but we figured we waited this long might as well just stick it out. How much worse can it get? It got even worse, we were totally ignored by the staff, after screaming we finally got a waiter to take our order-we never got our drinks- we just went to the bar itself and ordered and took back our drinks to the table ourselves. At about 11:30 we finally got our food( we skipped appetizers-just wanted to eat something and get out by midnight). We did not get what we ordered and one of us never got his meal! At this point we just wanted to leave, we asked for the check and believe it or not that came right away! Of course it was wrong!! They charged for all the drinks and for the meal that never came!! They also gave themselves a 15% tip!! We decided to leave without paying- we figured it would have taken forever to try to correct the bill and they had our names and the hotel we were staying in( they had the printed reservation)- so we knew they would eventually get paid. We started walking to our hotel-the Hyatt which is across the street- when two thugs came running after us and started screaming and pushing us to go back and pay our bill-we told them we wanted to call the police, they responded by kicking my husband!! At this point, my children were crying and I was scared that these thugs may really hurt us and no police were in sight, we did try to take pictures with our telephones but they covered their faces! They were screaming that we "New Yorkers think who you are-this is not New York". I have been going to Aruba for the past 12-15 years and I have never had such an experience! The men decided to go back and pay the bill-we had no choice-we were afraid for our lives. The restaurant made believe that they did not know these thugs and refused to give us their names. We paid with credit cards- we will fight these charges and I even stopped my credit card that night- we were afraid of extra charges from them- if they could send out thugs who knows what else they are capable of doing? We were going to call the police, but it was New Year's eve and we did not want to ruin it more than it was already ruined. The ordeal was over at 12:30 AM. We were going to wait for the next day, but we then decided that we did not want this horrible experience to ruin our family vacation, so we just forgot about it and made a pledge to let everyone know how we were treated by Gianni. The Hyatt knows the whole story and they said they will stop recommending the restaurant. I will be talking to my credit card company and hopefully will not pay for that horrible night!! Even though money can not compensate for the experience but I want the restaurant to get some aggravation out of the way they treated us. Please believe me and do not go to this restaurant- there are many other places you can eat in Aruba and have a wonderful time!    [08 Jan 2008 09:13:25]

The food was better last year, the server was slow and did not speak English.

They tried to rip us off on the bill by over charging.

the also added a 15% service charge and a 5% something. But told us it did not include the tip.

It was our favorite place. We will not go back    [09 Nov 2008 07:49:39]
