Bloody great! What a beautiful place! nestled in such a coastal area, it is a most pleasant suprise to receive the great food and atmosphere offered at the Star of Greece Cafe. [23 Aug 2002 05:09:33]

Lovely Food - Terrible Service Star of Greece is set in a perfect location atop a cliff, offering breath taking views along Port Willunga Beach. The cafe has a summer feel to it; relaxed decor and casual background music match the views perfectly.
The food is fantastic. Fresh, locally sourced seafood dominates the menu. Mains could be considered slightly overpriced (A$20-A$30)for a cafe.
The service is appalling and greatly detracts from what could be a fantastic cafe. The waitstaff were impersonal, rarely looking us in the eye. Two parties were turned away in a very impolite manner (and are probably unlikely to return!). On paying the bill, the waiter did not return any of my pleasantries and commented that I had not left a tip on the credit card invoice.
Very disappointing. [01 Jan 2004 23:59:35]

Wow!!! I never new that a little cafe like this could have such an impact! I loved it! The food was great even the service! Great place for a date! The best spot to sit is next to the window while the sun is setting in the distance! I thought it was bloody brilliant!!!!!!!!!! [01 Mar 2004 23:03:22]

Absolutely Brilliant! I was fortunate enough to be taken to Star of Greece Cafe for my birthday - what a magnificent experience this was! I felt I was amongst the Amalfi Coast with the food & service at an all time high. How lovely are the hosts/owners John & Zanny too?!!! They treated us like friends of the family and made it a truly great day. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and everyone. 11 out of 10. [23 Mar 2004 22:03:29]

Fabulous but Service could be better Loved the Star of Greece - fabulous decor, food and ambience. On the downside the service is sometimes lacking and if you voice your dissatisfaction then the service borders on rude. Overall it's a must if you're staying in the area. [30 May 2004 05:54:25]

Very Disappointing Took friends there following suggestion from friend whom I will listen to no more in this regard. Ambiance OK for cafe style but food quantity for price was appalling. e.g. very small piece of snapper sitting on top of equally small salad for $34 was an insult. All mains were very small with big prices. Service was just acceptable but staff too casual in attitude. [02 Jan 2006 03:59:39]

superb Wonderful position, excellent food, and in summer is very popular, so book well ahead. Loved our drink on the deck watching the sunset, and interesting, colourful ambience. [25 Jan 2006 03:34:52]

Won't go again Well I was taken by my partner to the Star of Greece for my birthday. A gorgeous restaurant and a gorgeous setting and view but that is where the gorgeous finishes.
We booked six weeks ahead to ensure we got a good table and we got a rickety table that was set up on a hump in the concrete so it wobbled during the entire meal. The wine glass fell off the table, the menu blackboard blew into the table and knocked off stuff and the staff were awful. We went there for a special celebration lunch and they could not get us out of the restaurant soon enough - they apparently had more people coming in who desperately needed the stupid wobbly table. The food was nice, but the food IS nice at a lot of restaurants and a lot of restaurants have better service and are more customer focussed.
We will not return even though we are local to the area. [30 Mar 2006 21:07:53]
