Have seen a wheelchair or two inside and out, but the sole bathroom is a very tight squeeze. Also the steep, gravel access path is hard on wheelchairs and requires a 'pusher', but it can be done. Don't be afraid to ask for help - the staff are very friendly and accommodating.

New Owners - Fabulous Place and Food
New Owners and a new Chef (from Victoria) but the food is as great as ever. This restaurant is a gem! The food is delicious and fairly priced. The pies and cheesecakes to die for! Gorgeous forested setting in the middle of nowhere (ok, it's in Shirley, 15 mins west of Sooke, v. close to French Beach Park). The Sunday Brunch is especialy good. By the way, this is NOT an Italian restaurant - where did they get that from? It's good down home Island cooking - Seafood and Chowder and Pies - yum! Pie and a beer on the patio - heaven!! Stunning Setting - Really Great Food
Ignore the earlier negative review - this place rocks! The new owners (since early '06) and staff have really kicked this place up several notches. Most of the info on this page is so wrong and out of date - but the food IS great and the forested setting and cozy cottage ambience is pretty near perfect. It has NEVER been an Italian restaurant. It does have great seafood dishes, creative specials and desserts to die for - all homemade. And now they do a fabulous Sunday Brunch - the only restaurant in the area doing Brunch and it's long overdue - gotta have the crabcakes -yum! It's in Shirley, by the firehall, 15 mins west of Sooke - try it, you will not be disappointed. [26 Jul 2006 02:26:44]
