Going to Yellowknife? You Have to Eat Here! Anyone going to Yellowknife HAS to have a least one meal at Bullock's. It's a little hard to find, but I'm sure if you ask anyone in town, they'll give directions (or maybe not, if they don't want to share this northern jewel!).
The menu, based firmly on fish and stew (or chowder) is brief. And it's not too cheap. But, that said, the food is fantastic. Equal to the superlative meals is the atmosphere. The tiny restaurant reminds me of a cabin at summer camp, with greetings and words of wisdom penned on the walls and ceiling. And the bumper stickers! Oh my.
But perhaps I should qualify my infatuation with the place...it isn't really for everyone. The service can be a little cranky, you have to get your own beverages from the fridge, and the seating can be a little uncomfortable at times. Still, it's the kind of place that has some magical aura, something very special, about it. Go and see. [28 Nov 2002 13:40:39]

You Won't Forget This Place! Fish is absolutely the best, fried in tons of real butter. The buns (scones?) are to die for, again served with butter. The atmosphere is very unique, people friendly and having a good time. Can't wait to go back! [28 Dec 2006 17:11:10]
