Great Indonesian Cuisine in Paris
Attractive décor, gracious service, and funky Indonesian music set the scene. Overall, I was quite impressed with the food. All the dishes were expertly prepared, in my opinion. Though not exactly what I've experienced at Indonesian restaurants in the Netherlands, it was still very enjoyable. The flavors were quite satisfying, though not quite as spicy as one might expect. For the amount of food that was served, I never felt bloated – I actually felt quite refreshed after leaving. The most memorable dish for me was a spicy peanut & shrimp soup served about half-way through the meal. Mmmm, yes, that was marvelous. We were also served a selection of rice, fish, chicken liver, sate, beef, chicken & vegetable soup, glass noodles, and more, all flavored with interesting Indonesian spices. I ended the meal with some tasty mango juice and fruit-flavored sorbet with caramel sauce. The mango sorbet and caramel sauce was a strange blend of flavors, but other than that nothing offended my palate. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to you if you’re looking for a nice taste of Asian/Indonesian cuisine in Paris.    [11 Feb 2003 14:03:19]
