Great restaurant

I've been eating in this restaurant since around 1980, but at least three to four times a year since 1990. It is a place we call a "eetcafe" in the Netherlands, a combination of a (not too loud) pub and a restaurant with good meals and friendly service for a reasonable price. The interior is, as usual in this kind of place, simple but comfortable. During the day you may have a drink and lunch, in the evening there is a more sophisticated menu, with delicious but not too extreme meals. The combination of a starter and a main dish is only advised when quite hungry, as the portions are not small. But you wouldn't want to miss the starters, so get them anyway, even if not that hungry. Service is very friendly and food is delicious. They have a menu with about 8 starters and 8 main dishes and some chalk boards hanging from the ceiling with additional dishes. Enough to choose from for every taste. In all those years, I have never been disappointed by the staff or the food.    [19 Oct 2004 10:59:18]
