In Thee Ould Inn This city inn relives medieval times. Not in lavish costumes and decorations like in King's banquets, but in food and atmosphere of a common people's inn.
A minstrel with a stringed instrument provides live entertainment. Many of the songs he sings are traditionals, but when we asked for a specific artist, he quickly improvised a medley of songs appropriate within the theme.
In between courses the hosts tell anecdotes about the age, the food served and the 'rules of the house'. Guests are invited to eat with their hands, and scoop the dessert with their middle fingers (although spoons are provided, this does add to the fun). Problem I had was that I don't drink alcohol, and both the appetizer and the dessert contain alcohol. Nice for parties and larger groups. [02 May 2003 22:12:17]
