Disappointing but sweetly so Hazara is part Deux of The Face, which has a Thai restuarant, Lanna, also on the premises. Maybe I just have far higher standards for Indian food but Hazara was a disappointment in the foods department. If you like your Indian food done with light seasoning and crisp-cooked vegetables, you would not be disappointed and actually you would love it. I prefer my Indian food cooked slow, deep and I don’t like tender parts of vegetables. The cauliflower was actually white near the base with curry floating around like a “sauce” served over some Western dishes. The aubergine was fine and perfect but the naans were over buttered and lacked the chewiness – they do need a right combination of whole wheat and germ. All rice dishes are lovely. What keeps me coming back to Face is the splendid and unique architecture but I head to Lanna. Also, for such a varied cuisine, it has hardly any vegetarian dishes. [23 Dec 2007 09:28:24]
