A hidden gem in Knightsbridge
The speciality of the house is 'cuisine de la mer' of which Chef Pascal Proyart is one of France's foremost exponents. With fresh fish arriving daily at One-O-One, Chef Pascal's declared objective is "to cook fish like nowhere else in the country", a claim borne out on both occasions we have dined here.
The starters include roasted royal king crab legs from the Barents Sea, delicious roasted sea scallops, and duck foie gras. If two of you want to share a main course, you might consider a whole seabass cooked in Brittany rock salt. As you might expect, the wine list concentrates on bottles from France.
The interior is elegant yet comfortable. Aqua, blue and green colours have been used throughout - even to the leather seats. The centre piece of the restaurant is an amazing 14 foot long sculpture of a fish made of stained glass and polished chrome which itself is made up of a number of smaller fish. Since we last visited there has been some fine tuning, noticeably that of etching a sea pattern on the picture windows facing Knightsbridge so that diners don't feel as though they are being stared at in an aquarium.
What can I say? There's only one One O One.
A fantastic restaurant to dine at while in London.    [15 Jun 2003 09:36:38]

Wow Food
We wanted to try a really good restaurant and chef during a recent London trip. We searched the web for information and One 0 One kept cropping up with rave reviews.
I am fed up with so-called high class restaurants and needed a fillip.
This was certainly it. I filled in the rating section for this page and found it impossible to rate lower than top marks for everything. We had the 6 course taster which included many of Pascal Proyart's most popular dishes. Every single one including the extra un-announced 7th course was superb.
If you - like us - are searching for somewhere to go in London - Stop searching and book now!    [19 Feb 2004 03:54:42]
