Brand New Wagamam Restaurant At Jubilee Place - Don't Go To whom it may concern:
I work in Canary Wharf and have just come back from having lunch at this new restaurant in Jubilee Place which has just opened this week. I have never eaten at one of these restaurants so I thought it would be nice to try, but after what I experienced today I don't know if I will return.
After placing orders - mine with a specific request - myself and a colleague were then told after 10 minutes that my special request could not be done. Which was OK, I re-ordered. My colleague was given the wrong food even after questioning this with the waiter and being told that this was correct. After then speaking to another waitress we were told that it was in fact an incorrect meal and that she would bring a new meal. We then had to wait another half an hour before the food came out, people arriving after us were served, finished, had paid the bill and left as we were still waiting.
The waitress did apologise after about 20 minutes wait after re-ordering and said it would be another 4 minutes wait, which turned out to be longer. When the food finally came out it was too hot to eat let alone eat quickly, seeing that we had waited over half an hour we had 12 minutes to eat the meal, pay the bill and return to the office as we were both on a lunch hour. I spoke to a waiter and explained that because of the wait we had could we take our food away, he agreed and said he would bring the bill, then he returned after a few minutes and said they are not doing boxes to take-away until the 29th so do we want to leave the food and lifted the plates. He did not speak very good English and was just rushing around.
In total we waited around 35 minutes to eat, got told different things from different members of staff, the food was too hot to eat and the bill came to £19.50. After I questioned this with the waitress with red hair, I told her what had happened and she said next time I can have a free drink! Then was told they are not doing take-away until the 29th of September and for me to look at it now and that its going to be murder once the take-away starts. I had to pay £19.50 to wait for a 35 minute wait incorrect information from staff and two meals of which we had 5 mouthfuls each.
I would advise to give this resturant a big miss. [16 Feb 2004 07:43:21]

I've Seen The Future And It's Wagamama I have been going to Wagamama's for a long time now and only just realised after a conversation with friends what an integral part of our life this place is. We go at least once a fortnight, I even go alone at lunch sometimes and never feel like a billy-no-mates. They do consistently great food (am working my way through the menu again and it's like cornflakes - you DO forget how good they taste!); the staff are always fast and friendly and you leave, not having spent a fortune but thinking it was totally enjoyable. The places are very noisy which is great cos' - despite the fact it's like being back at school in a canteen - the people next to you are so busy chatting that they aren't listening to your private conversations.
Long live the noodle masters. We are off to the Haymarket restaurant now. Mmmmm.. [28 May 2006 06:10:13]
