Food with a view Menu showed a mix of traditional Alaskan fare (salmon, king crab, dungeness crab cakes) and acceptance of outside influence and creativity (savory bread pudding with tenderloin, seared mozarella, housemade buffalo sausage). Amuse-gull was a pleasant start to the evening. Full wine list, but choices were very conservative. Desserts not on par with rest of menu. The food certainly held its own with the breathtaking view establishing Seven Glaciers as a dining destination for true culinarians. [18 Feb 2004 16:56:40]

At the top of the world Seven Glaciers is a lovely restaurant high above the town of Girdwood - accessible via Gondola - arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to your reservation time. My group of five enjoyed the Elk new york strip, seared salmon and filet mignon entrees after sampling starters of beef tips with king crab, cold & spicy watermelon soup and mixed greens salads. For dessert, we had 7 Glacier's rendering of a banana split - carmelized banana with a scoop of wild-berry ice cream and Tequila sorbet. [15 May 2006 15:11:47]

Alaska's Pinnacle of Dining Perched at the pinnacle of the premier Alaska ski resort, Seven Glaciers is a formal dining restaurant with a distinctly Alaskan touch. Seating near a window is best but not always available. Accessible only by tram, the restaurant looks down on Cook Inlet, with a glorious afternoon view of the mountains behind it. I was just fortunate enough when I was there to witness a parade of twenty-two parasailers diving off the restaurant's mountain deck and soaring over the inlet. As if the view could not get any better, at that point they were joined by two bald eagles soaring msjestically through rays of sunlight spilling out through gaps in the clouds. It has been to this day one of the best dining experiences of my life, not so much for the food, excellent in its own regard, but the view was phenomenal, I highly recommend it.
