Great Food friendly service
This has to be one of the best bakery/restaurants I have ever eaten in. Our family loved the food, the atmosphere, the friendly service and the town of Homer. What a pleasant surprise to find such fresh Superior food in small town in Alaska.

Great Place
We are staying at the owners Bed & Breakfast in Homer Alaska, A Memorable Experience, and part of the stay includes a meal at this incredible restaurant! The Seafood Sampler platter my husband and I split was the best meal we had in our 3 week stay in Alaska and as good as any 5 star restaurants we have eaten at. The fresh rolls and the seafood chowder were to die for! We ate breakfast lunch and dinner at the restaurant over the past few days in Homer and all was outstanding.    [20 Aug 2004 14:08:45]

Healthy Goodness
Not only is the food superior at Sourdough, but it is also surprising healthy. The choices are endless and all contain ingredients that are good for the body and wells as the taste buds! There are also many choices of drink and fresh baked sweets and breads that are incredible. The atmosphere is also amazingly enjoyable. Not Good....
About four years ago, my wife and I visited the Sourdough Express and loved it. As such, I was anticipating going back. Unfortunately, our experience was not so enjoyable this time, as the food and service were utterly dissapointing. The seafood chowder (listed incorrectly as halibut chowder on the menu), while much hyped, wasn't thrilling, although it was also the highlight of the meal. The lemon pepper halibut salad tasted neither of lemon or pepper, but rather inhabited a new flavor category: bland. It's flavor wasn't helped along by our being served the wrong dressing. The croissant, which sounded excellent, was only fair.

Don't waste your money here; there are many excellent places to dine in Homer.    [30 May 2006 15:04:52]
