Hometown cooking with a nostalgic charm
I'd recommend Tillie's Diner any day of the week for any meal: breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Check out their daily specials too. The proprietor is always around to talk to his customers and the waiters and waitresses are a delight. My cousin and I went here to eat today and I'd been here before and loved their waffles. Today, however the service was TERRIBLE! The waffles came after I'd already eaten my eggs and sausage and the coffee was as if it had been there all day! My cousin's pancakes came well after we'd finished eaten my entire meal! The manager (I assume that's who she was) Gracie was the main reason why our experience was bad. Her attitude was ridiculous. She has NO customer service skills and even went so far as to comment that she'd been there for 14 yrs! I wonder why! If that's the service you give waiting tables, I wouldn't give her a job doing anything else either. Our waiter however was the best! Too bad I didn't get his name.
