Yum!
I've just recently moved to Arcata and I'm attending HSU, so I've been trying out the various restaurants in town and this is by far my favorite. The service is very friendly, and the food is far beyond that, certainly the best Chinese cuisine I've had.    [07 Sep 2003 14:19:33]

Good Chinese at a good price
I come from San Fran, so I am a lot pickier about my Chinese food than most. Hunan's is the only Chinese place in Arcata I can stand. Don't eat at the one on the plaza, it is greasy junk, eat at the Northtown one.

The service is good, the food good (try the specials, they are excellent, especially the fish), and the ambience is very nice, I love the fishtanks. They do takeout as well as sit-down and are always finished with the food very quickly, say in ten minutes.    [23 Aug 2005 21:30:38]

Excellent!
Only top notch dishes served here. My favorite is the tofu with veggies. Try one of the House Specialties, like Imperial Chicken, mmmm. Great service and a very short wait until the food arrives. Best in Area
I like this restaurant best in the category of Chinese food. There aren't many comparable places in the area, in my estimation. Service is quick and polite, and the fish tanks with diverse sea lifeforms add to the overall ambiance. A framed letter is posted near the entrance door. I Miss This Place!
When I lived in Arcata as an HSU student, my friends/roommates and I would eat here every Friday for their lunch buffet. The food here is soooo good! There wasn't the largest selection, like I'm used to here in southern California, but everything offered was delicious and enjoyable. The price was definitely a bargain (especially for college students), so that was greatly appreciated. The employees were friendly and the service was great. Every time friends or family would visit I would take them to "the Village" because I knew we wouldn't be disappointed. Also, every time my Humboldt roomies have reunions and take road trips back up to Arcata, Hunan Village is always on the top of our list for places to eat.    [26 Sep 2008 14:43:39]
