A Concord Tradition
I thoroughly enjoy Barney's Hickory Pit every time I eat there, and I've been eating there for over 20 years. Barney's is truly a Concord tradition. The ribs are tender and delicious, served with a buttered bun, fries, and a pickle, Smokey flavor, and a Gravy/Sauce that's not too spicy. The salads are awesome as well. I've never been disappointed with their food whether it was for take out, or eat in. The restaurant itself is an old timey feel, with booths. It looks like a 70's truck stop inside. But you dont go to Barney's for the scenery, it's all about the food. The service is outstanding as well.    [10 Sep 2003 21:09:08]

The best of the Bay Area
I moved away from California 20 years ago. The thing I miss the most is Barneys. I go every time I am in town , which is not often enough. Last time, I brought some sauce home, so people on the east coast can taste real ribs!    [02 Jun 2004 08:22:02]

Barney's Is Not closed!
Is this thing not edited? Barney's Hickory Pit is not closed. I ate there on 7/7/07. Still going strong.
