My husband and I dined on Fridays regularly for the clam chowder. It is thick, very tasty, and the bowl is enough for a meal in itself.
Other entrees we've tried include: Monte Cristo - made the way it should be - deep fried. It is a large sandwich and comes with the skinny fries with the skin on or a potato salad. Fish & Chips - Very good, with 3 pieces of batter fried fish. The hot corned beef sandwich is also good, but could have a little more meat.
The atmosphere is pub style, with both indoor and patio seating. Some nights include live music, but I have never stayed long enough to listen. McP's was established by a Navy Seal, and the Navy Seals frequent this establishment. I can be crowded and noisy when Seal graduating classes have their graduation parties there. But, if you dine early, you can avoid this.
The service has always been good and the food of good quality. Prices are in the low $7 for sandwich with fries to moderate range $11 for fish and chips.
While the restaurant is clean, the restrooms need some improvement. But, remember ... this is a pub. [13 Aug 2001 12:59:24]
