I love Hula's!!

I went to Hula's during a vacation to Monterey, and everything was so tasty that whenever I think of going back to that city, I think of going back and ordering their fried calamari appetizer -- tender calamari steaks with a just-sweet-enough sauce. My mouth is watering.    [23 Mar 2004 01:44:36]

Here is the problem with these advisory websites, they rarely hit the local spots. By far Hula's is number one with the locals, and when I go on a trip I always want to eat where the locals hang out. Also the only hip restaurant in the county. Great vibe, cool wait staff, great Asian/Hawaiian influenced food and local prices. Yea, go to one of the top listed restaurants and get ripped off. Go to Hula's and have the time of your trip.
I was in there last evening, the ATT Pebble Beach Pro Am has just kicked off. Huey Lewis was in there with a bunch of guys having dinner, then Emmit Smith came in with some guy and sat at the bar. Last month when I was there Clint Eastwood was sitting with his wife and a few other poeple. My hip waitress said he eats there all the time.

Watch out
This restaurant is not what it seeks out to promote itself. It is not a kid friendly restaurant, it is not a family oriented place to have a meal with your family. I don't recommend this place. The service is terrible!    [15 Jun 2005 03:49:30]

Sweet Potato fries. Mmmm...
Great decor and ambiance. Plenty of knick-knacks to look at while waiting for your food. The staff is a "younger" staff and very personable. A good selection of unusual dishes on the menu. Plenty to choose from if you're a vegetarian. I had a tofu teriyaki wrap with plantain -- VERY good. I will definitely go back to try the rest of the dishes on the menu. Price is very reasonable. Hula's is great fun
Our group had a terrific time at this popular restaurant. This is not some tacky theme restaurant so maybe I can understand the one reviewer that didn't like it - sounds like he/she was looking for a Bubba Gumps kind of place - no offense.

This place clearly had a hip clintele but there were all ages and types looking like they were having great food and enjoyng themselves. I will go back whenever I'm within an hour of Hula's.    [18 May 2006 14:27:56]

Great food, great prices
I've been a local customer of Hula's for over 7 years now and it's definitely one of the best restaurants in the county. Casual atmosphere, good service and consistently great food.
