A Great Place
This place has the best crab cakes, the finest seafood I have ever eaten hands down. It's noisy, busy, cluttered and trying to get decent parking is difficult. The seafood is wonderful!    [03 Jan 2006 20:34:58]

THE Place I want to eat when in California
I discovered this fabulous place when living in California in the late 70's.
When we left in the late 80's, it is the restaurant I miss the most. If I know anyone who is traveling to the area, I tell them this is a MUST! The Romano Potatos and seafood are excellent. Who cares about the noise!
The food surpasses any desire for quiet.    [22 Feb 2004 23:06:55]

Eat Lotsa Fish
I think the first time I ever came to the Crab Cooker was back in the early 1980s. At any rate, we've been back many, many times. Yes, they DO have the world's best Manhattan-style chowder and it's worth the wait. Even the "light eater's" plate is great. The cole slaw is wonderful and so are the potatoes. Not to mention the fish. You can't go wrong. Only one gripe: their wine list is terrible. But hey . . .    [17 Feb 2004 18:37:17]

Very Filling Restaurant
They claim to have the world's best clam chowder. I prefer the white kind but they served the orange and I gotta admit, it was really good. I suggest it if you decide to go to the Crab Cooker. If you buy an entree with mashed potatoes I suggest you eat it last because it will fill you up faster than anything you've ever eaten in your life.

The service was fine. Very fast, nothing to complain about. You may end up sitting 2 feet away from another couple if you make a reservation for 2 because the place is so popular and small.

The ambiance is a cramped(/cozy) loud restaurant. It may be a little difficult to have a conversation in that place. There is a fishing theme. If i remember correctly a giant swordfish is hanging from the ceiling.    [18 Jul 2003 20:08:55]
