Great Thai Food
I've had lunch at this downtown Oakland place for months. It's authentic Thai food served in a comfortable setting for an affordable price. They offer a wide range of 'spice level' - from the very mild to the appropriately named "Jungle Curry". They have a number of vegetarian dishes on their extensive menu. I really like the spicy/sour chicken salad - it's a huge plate, topped with freshly cooked chicken and veggies on a bed of lettuce. If you're trying to do the Atkins diet, this is a wonderful option. Their soup is incredible, (not always spicy) - getting one of those to share with a party of 2-4 gives you a great side dish to their entrees. (It's enough to be lunch or dinner for one.)
I'm nervous about letting other people know where it is because it may get even more crowded. If you get there after 11:45, expect a line.    []
