This place is the greatest!
I recently lived for three years in Thousand Oaks - a refugee from San Francisco (the land of 3,000 great restaurants)...Without Marcello, I would have starved! Don't let the blase mall location fool you...This is a great Super-Tuscan restaurant! The owner Tino Marcello greets his cietelle at the door most nights, and you can tell he never lets a detail out of sight...Try the greatest Pasta E Fagioli soup this side of the Atlantic...Risottos made the old fashioned slow-cooked way...Pastas all al dente perfecto! Wine list is ample and house wines are excellent. Prices are fair for the quality. Atmosphere, once inside, is a refreshing retreat. This place is a 10 on a 10 scale. Don't miss their other newer location in Santa Barbara on State street near the main theaters....equally delicious, much better location!    [10 May 2004 21:10:58]
