Gordy's, a low-cost must stop kinda place I stopped in at Gordy's back in 1998 or 1999 on my way to Las Vegas for a conference. A friend and I each had a Navajo Taco with green chile's and OH MY GOD!!! I have had Navajo tacos before and always love them but this was extraordinary. Huge portions and the best taste of any I have tried. We stopped back in at Gordy's twice on my way home from the conference even though it was out of the way and Gordy's has become a fixture in my diet ever since. At least once or twice a year I have to run out to Cortez, CO and get a Navajo taco. My friend enjoyed it so much, she even sent a thank you card to the resturant. Since that time, serving sizes have decreased a bit, but still enough to be STUFFED when you leave. Gordy's has a nice family diner appeal and the people are always friendly and a nice experience. I have taken several other friends on the thousand mile trek to Gordies and all have enjoyed the food and many are just as stuck on the Navajo taco craving as I am. Don't know what I will do if they ever go out of business cuz nobody else makes them that good. [27 Nov 2003 11:54:32]
