Best sushi in Danbury area Sushi Yoshi is arguably the best sushi restaurant in the Danbury area. But, if sushi is not your "dish," you can partake of the many traditional Japanese items on the menu. Their grilled beef and pork items are very pleasing to the American palate, for the lighter side, the chicken dishes are excellent. Seating is at regular tables unless you want to try the tatami room which provides a fun and intimate atmosphere. The decor is Japanese style overall and very pleasent for a nice quiet evening out. A huge disappointment I was shocked at the incredibly small portions for the prices this restaurant charges. The sashimi "deluxe" contained about as much fish as you would find in a small can of tuna. There were also no traditional accoutrements with the meal that you would normally find: no complimentary tea, fried noodles, etc. It should also be noted that this is the first so-called sushi bar that I have ever visited that doesn't serve wasabi with the meal. The ambience is nothing to write home about either. Many tables consist of uncomfortable booths, and the surroundings are drab and unoriginal. [23 Sep 2003 20:48:07]

Best Japanese restaurant in the area Their food is wonderful and the staff is great. The food is very fresh and timely and the atmosphere is very comfortable. I enjoy their sushi combinations and the variety is great. I completely recommend to go out and give them a try. [03 Apr 2005 20:30:55]

Horrible This place is the worst sushi bar I've ever been in. The chefs are clueless, they didn't have any uni, eel, specials, or anything interesting the night my wife and I were there. Stay away. If you are a local hick, this may be your place, but if you know anything about sushi, you will walk out like we did. [01 Jun 2007 19:30:30]

Best sushi in the area Coming from Norwalk, where there are several great sushi restaraunts to choose from, finding this little gem was a real find! After eating there at least three dozen times, I can say that this is the best in the Danbury area. Some of the rolls lack originality, and the options are limited, and the atmosphere is marginal, but the sushi is well-proportioned, service is great, and the fish is fresh. [22 Aug 2007 19:03:32]

Good place Sushi is excellent, service is good. Nice variety of Japanese dishes other than sushi. Special requests for dishes not on the menu are usually accommodated. Good value too. FYI, there are no booths here, never have been so I don't know where that reviewer thought he was. [23 Nov 2007 09:32:53]
