Worst customer service ever
My fiance and I were planning a wedding at La Fortuna for this coming fall. I began speaking with the owner in December and things were looking good. We had decided on all of the details for our day....then it came time to sign a contract. I was promised a contract by the owners wife on Thursday or Friday after my appt with her. Monday came..no contract...so I called the owner who advised me that his wife was out of town and he was very sick. I was promised a contract within a day or two...which i was perectly fine with.... three days later I called back. I explained to the owner that the urgency was that my future inlaws live in Australia and that we wanted to have all the details ironed out before they booked their flight ($9000 worth of plane tickets). the owner got very disgusted with me and told me that he has been doing this for 27 years and that "my wedding" had to be something special because my family lives on the other side of the world"... taken back I said nothing but he continued to banter and tell me that he has done "real" weddings before and there was never a problem. My fiance and I decided to go with a smaller wedding of 80-85 peeople with a buffet ($70/ per person without alchohol) and apparently that did not meet his standards of a real wedding... The owner of this restaurant is arrogant and in general a nasty human being. No one deserves to be treated that way. Customers beware... I would think twice before considering La Fortuna for any day that you would like to enjoy    [21 Feb 2008 17:57:34]
