Over Priced The Inn at Chester is beautiful inside and out. You can't beat the ambiance.
The brunch is good, but not as much selection as I’d like to see.
The presentation on dinner dishes are beautiful, but they are much nicer to look at than taste. However, I am very particular, in my mind when dining out the food should taste equal or better than my home cooking.
Service has been slow and inexperienced each time we’ve dined.
I strongly recommend any other restaurant in the area. You will have better food, better prices, and better service. [22 Dec 2005 12:49:45]

all that $$$$$ didn't help the Inn You can see how everything was 'upgraded'. I love ambience when it comes with great food at a reasonable price. Okay food at sky high prices didn't do it for me. Too many other great restaurants in the area. Now destination spots are fun and we always love finding something off the beaten path... but not when the new owner passes on his city prices to locals. The best bargain in southern middlesex county My wife and I found the Inn at Chester last weekend on a drive up from Greenwich. We love the area with the fun little shops in Chester and Essex. We thought the food was awesome for the price range of 20-25 for an entree. The Short ribs were awesome with a (slightly early) but very spring like salad of Arugula and pickled red onions. The blue corn crusted oysters with the raspberry shooter was top notch. My wife had the bistro salad with goat cheese (she loves goat cheese and there was an ample supply) her entree was a horseradish encrusted tilapia with a littleneck clam broth; it was cooked perfectly, very tender and moist. The service was a little on the slow side, but we didn't notice, we were involved in our conversation and food. The wine list had quite a few interesting wines all under 50 dollars. The dining room is kind of cool old barn style, very New England like. They have very nice wine glasses on the tables (either riedel or schollenwald). The external looks a little weathered and we drove by it twice before finding it. We are looking forward to our anniversary to go stay overnight and try their tasting menu. [24 Mar 2006 23:31:17]
