Great hot spot for cold days
This is one of my favorite coffee shops in Madison. First of all, it was around long before all the other trendy shops -- and has recently been expanded. It's the real deal. Locals frequent this coffee shop over the others. The coffee is fabulous with many varieties to choose from and of course you can buy lbs to go. They also have great treats to accompany your coffee including great bagels, danish, muffins, specialty breads, cookies, soups and kitchen prepared meals. What happened..
The beanery used to be smaller and had good quick service. Since their expansion, they have become slightly understaffed and now I honestly say I hate going in there. They have good food at pretty good prices, but they take literally forever to make a sandwich, etc. Their cookies are yummy, but I would stick to getting things that are already out rather than ordering something at the counter unless you want to wait 15-20 min.    [17 Jun 2008 15:44:16]
