Description

A new multi floor restaurant in the heart of downtown New Haven designed and run by the same operator/owners of Roomba. Bespoke- meaning custom made or made to order is a one of a kind experience. This space boasts 3 levels of dining, incredible woodwork, an onyx list fireplace, a basement lounge, a private wine room and a lively, elegant bar. Bespoke features globally influenced modern American cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients. An esoteric wine list, one of a kind cocktails and little known beers compliment the menu.
Drinks from $6-$15, Appetizers from $9-$16, Entrees from $22- $34, Desserts from $9-$10

Perfectly Prententious in Every Way
Went on a busy Saturday evening. My suggestion is to leave your weekend dining to a less crowded, more experienced restaurant and reserve a spot at Bespoke midweek. We waited twenty minutes for our table (after a roundabout experience with the reservation system that must be similar to a CIA background check...) When we were finally seated we found the room crowded and nearly an impossible place to hold a discussion without screaming. In fact, it may be easier to speak to the table next to you (a mere 12 in. away) than the person sitting across from you. The seating is uncomfortable and the room far too stiff to be enjoyable.

Food was adequate, though not worth the price. The appetizers are in the $15 dollar range, least expensive entree was $26 for chicken.

Service was sloppy. I'm sure our waiter must have forgotten us.

We probably will not return except for an occassional drink at the bar which in my mind was the high point.    [09 Feb 2007 14:12:53]

Amazing food, amazing space- wows all around
Bespoke is what New Haven has needed for so long. A gorgeous, cosmopolitan restaurant with top notch food and very adventurous wine and cocktail list. We loved everything. The service was detailed and attentive, the atmosphere lively and the meal was wonderful.

We will definitely go back...    [20 Apr 2007 17:23:25]

Over Rated and Over Priced
Way overpriced for what you get. They are relying on their decorating to compensate for the prices and the food has a long way to go.    [20 Oct 2007 12:24:21]
