Best of New Haven This place has great sushi-- the best in the New Haven area in my opinion. Fresh fish, imaginative makis. The miso soup is the best I've ever had, and the selection of sakes is very good. Stylish, pleasant staff, comfortable atmosphere. My stars are based on CT restaurants; I've had as good on a few occasions in NYC and San Francisco [01 Feb 2005 17:52:02]

Not the best place for Sushi Food at Miso is mediocre at its best. Fish could be fresher and they definitely can bring their dish up a notch. [19 Jun 2005 01:48:33]

Below average Japanese food Over-priced, traditional style Japanese food done with no understanding of the cuisine. For people who don't know a thing about Japanese food. [31 Mar 2006 10:10:02]

Never again This is my second time at Miso's. First time was my husband's special treat so it felt different.
Today, I told myself - NEVER AGAIN. Yes, the sashimi is fresh. That's all.
Service is uncceptable given the price range of this restaurant. Waiters/Waitresses are very slow - in their movement as well as initiative/ability to think. I brought in my infant. No offer of help to hold the door as I went in/left the place. No offers of high chair as I struggle to hold the baby as I eat. Food was given like I was someone in line in some military camp, simply put down on the table mechanically.
Conclusion: For fresh sashimi, I can go elsewhere (e.g. get a sushi/sashimi takeout lunch-box at Wholefoods) for better prices and experience.
Also, they served me rice that's obviously leftover from the day before. I grew up in Asia, eating rice as a staple and I can't be fooled! [13 Jun 2007 16:18:10]
