Description
A popular spot for lunch or dinner. Order spicy dishes according to taste; the "native Thai" level of spice is reasonable, but not for the tame.

Delightful journey east Bangkok City is a good place to take your business lunch, your family or when you want to treat yourself.
Clean, quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Good food, well prepared. Excellent service. What's not to like! [09 Jan 2003 01:40:58]

don't miss this treasure! This wonderful restaurant is worth a trip from nearly anywhere! Don't miss the crispy sweet Mee Krob appetizer or the delicious, hearty Tom Yum soup. Even better is the Moo Sarm Rose (spicy breaded pork in chili sauce) and Kiss me! Garlic and Pepper chicken. Still my favorite Thai restaurant after years of eating Thai all over the world [11 Sep 2005 21:00:15]

We LOVE this restaurant The service is so kind, efficient and comforting. The food is full of flavor, healthy and served in proper portions. The prices are very good. The wine is not overly-inflated. A nice Sauvignon Blanc at $16 bottle pairs beautifully. [23 Feb 2006 10:59:34]

AWESOME MIX OF DISHES I ordered the Crab Curry to put over the Pad Thai and it's the best mix of flavors. They even had an awesome Fried Jasmine Rice with seafood and Thai Basil. YUMMY! The coconut jelly is out of this world U all got to try it. I'll go back even if I don't have a date. Have fun folks. [28 Jul 2006 00:51:45]

Not to be overlooked. A few friends of mine invited my husband and I out to dine at Bangkok City Thai one evening. I was a little apprehensive at the thought seeing as I had assumptions that all of the dishes contained peanuts. Needless to say, that was not the case after perusing the menu.
The atmosphere was quite enjoyable, though, it often feels small when the restaurant is full. I noticed there were plenty of tasteful wall decorations portraying a bit of Thailand's culture which was a nice touch.
We were all greeted the moment we walked in our drink orders were taken and delivered promptly. There was a variety of dishes to choose from and they were perfectly portioned with many delicious vegetables in each dish. I say this because it seems these days all food portions at many restaurants are overwhelming and a bit excessive. Once our meal orders were taken, the food came back to us hot and waited about 15 minutes for them. The downside to the service is that waitstaff were no where to be seen once the meals were delivered.
The food was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken sate with the peanut and sweet sauce that came with it. I also had the chicken pad prig sod which was at a modest "Cautious" spiciness. I do recommend that anyone who can not take spicy foods well to order the "Coward" level.
