Waterfront Surprise - New London, CT
My wife and I discovered this little gem of a "bistro" while waiting for the ferry to Orient Point Long Island.
It reminded us of so many of the cool European market/restaurants that we have seen while travling abroad.
It is a cheese market and restaurant combined with the most amazing wineshop we have ever seen. We bought a bottle of wine, sat at one of the coppertopped tables and ordered salad, bruchettas, and a cheese plate that was cut to order from the cases. For dessert we had Illy coffee and homemade cheesecake.
We have been travling to Long Island for years using the New London Ferry - this has got to be one of the best kept secrets in Connecticut. We only wish we found it sooner. On the water overlooking the ferry docks, we could actually see our boat arriving. We will be back, it was great.    [04 Feb 2007 10:15:09]
