Monaco's Ristorante, Tops in NW CT

Great Food
We ate at Monaco's this past week end. The swordfish special (with tomatoes, capers, olives and garlic) was out of this world. The veal piccata was also very good. Don't forget to have the tiramisu- one piece is big enough to share.

Although the service was great, the atmosphere leaves something to be desired. The cream walls have a yellow green undertone the combines poorly with the lighting - gives the place a murky greenish cast that I found unpleasant. The night we were there, the schmaltzy music was really terrible and too loud to tune out. But our waitress was happy to move us to a table in the bar - a cheerful place with bright red walls that matched our Campari and sodas. And half an hour later, there was live music - a James Taylor-esque singer..Ian, doing lovely sets of acoustic rock. We ended up having a wonderful night out.    [23 Oct 2006 08:11:15]

Amazing Italian: Monaco's Ristorante
I have dined at Monaco's a few times and
have sampled much of the menu. friendly
service accompanies the great food, and the live music is provides a pleasant, upbeat atmosphere. the seafood is always
fresh, and the tirimisu is hand-made on the premises.
