My Favorite Place in FL Try sitting on the porch along the docks on a beautiful summer day!!!!! Beautiful blue sky, gently flowing river and nature at your feet. So relaxing I never wanted to get up to leave. [03 Mar 2003 21:47:42]

The Boss needs a reality check. We ate at Boss Oyster after hearing that they were the "best." They were the first oyster place we tried upon arriving in Apalachicola for our week vacation. Oysters were good & the view was great, but the waiter was a bit condescending after he found out we only wanted a light lunch & weren't planning to spend big $ (we intended to return to Boss for a large dinner, but chose to go elsewhere after our first dining experience).
As we soon learned, our "light lunch" at Boss Oyster wasn't cheap...at least not when compared to every other oyster joint in Apalachicola (and we ate at every one of them!).
Don't waste your time with Boss Oyster...their previous success has obviously gone headward. [28 Jul 2005 16:43:38]

Oysters, Maybe. Crab, NO. We were served a bad crab cake here - it smelled strongly of ammonia, but the waitress and raw bar chef denied there was a problem.
Someone here needs to review the quality of their fresh shellfish; it should NEVER smell of ammonia. [28 Dec 2005 17:06:59]

Great Eats Food was delicious and even filled up my brother -- no easy task. Outside is a dining in nature pleasure. Oyster nirvana. [04 Sep 2006 23:06:38]

Terrible service Our order was wrong and they acted like it was our fault. Our waitress argued with us about it when we brought it to her attention. Then she proceeded to bring a guy from the kitchen to argue with us, too. It doesn't matter how good their oysters are if their service is terrible. My only regret is that most people (being tourists) don't know this and go there before they know it. [12 Jun 2007 17:53:17]

Not What We Expected - 17 Jul 07 This was the 1st place we ate for dinner during our stay @ St. George Plantation. There were 15 of us & we had to wait 35-45 minutes to be seated; not too surprising.
The food was fair, the bay scallops were overcooked. I honestly thought the place was overrated. [27 Jul 2007 20:36:57]
