The place is too hot to dine. Whenever we go to JOTO, A/C is not working. Why is that? But food is good. [06 Oct 2003 15:33:46]

I'm addicted. The toro, Salmon roe and flying fish eggs. Try the grouper cheeks and eel for dessert. It's all good and the chefs are very friendly. Pricing is just right too! On request, they will add flying fish roe to your favorite roll. [01 Oct 2004 10:39:28]

Food is not bad. Service and courtesy is bad I have lived in Japan for 4&1/2 years. I speak fluent japanese; their attitude is lacking and the owner being japanese needs to act like japanese (kind, courteous, welcoming, friendly).
At Jo-to. we were seated quickly, but we chose to move to a table because of another customer staring at us. asked the waiter to bring over everything to our table. some of our sushi condiments were discarded by the sushi chefs because the waiter never brought. when inquired to waitress she checked it out and said that such condiments are not allowed at the dining tables, that it would cost extra. I speak japanese and talked to the manager, trying to fix this misunderstanding. Owner being japanese, i spoke to him in japanese, discreetly. finally he grudgingly gave we the condiment to bring back to our table. from that point the waitress gave us a snobby look for the duration of the meal. It wasn't very crowded, but the service could've been better. IT would have been wiser to leave after the misunderstanding and not order dinner but i felt i should give them a second chance as the owner thought we hadn't ordered anything or intended to. when in fact we order 2 appetizers 1 of them sushi and 1 sake and one plum wine. I find their courtesy and service lacking; their food is medium grade. I was insulted by the way they treated me and would give joto no more than 2 stars for service 3 stars for their food.
