Amazing View, Amazing Place I visited this restaurant just last week, and at first, through the other reviews I had read, I was quite scared. My fear, though, was soon eased even though the restaurant was a victim of a hurricane last year and had just reopened, it was in incredible shape. As soon as I entered the restaurant, I was treated like a queen. In addition to the beautiful view overlooking the city and the ocean, I was waited on hand and foot, and even though the waiter appeared within minutes of our being seated, he apologized profusely for keeping us waiting. The meal itself was superb as well. I ate the Veal Marsala, and my boyfriend had the duck, and neither one of us had much room for dessert due to the fact that we didn't want to waste such an incredible meal, but we ordered it anyway. The Strawberry Napoleon that followed was exquisite. Needless to say, both my boyfriend and I were quite pleased with the entire dining experience there, and if we lived in the area, we would dine there as often as possible. [31 Mar 2005 18:47:22]

We can't wait to go back!!! We spent our 27th anniversary at the Top of Daytona and enjoyed the amazing atmosphere and food. Although we did not have a reservation, we were quickly seated by the window and admired the magnificent view on the Halifax River. We ate off the Early Bird menu - meat dumplings and the pork loin were excellent.
We’ll definitely come back during our next vacation in Daytona. [11 Feb 2007 09:42:33]

poor service I have been on vacation in daytona for 2 weeks and have dined at many high end restaurants while here but this experience was very dissapointing. We had 4 adults an 2 children (6 and 9 years old). since it was 7:30 we ordered the kids meals to be made right away so they would be happy but it took 80 minutes for our meals to arrive. the kids meals were last, about 5 minutes after the adults. of course we kept hearing that the meals were coming soon but for me not fast enough. the music was too loud to talk to each other. in the end what irritated me the most was that the tip was automatically put on the bill 18% of the total. that was the only way they would get a tip out of me. maybe a bad night for them but I will not be back in my life time. the food, when it came, was alright but not worth the wait. RIP OFF Visiting Daytona for the first time at Christmas the Top of Daytona sounded an ideal venue to take my wife and son for Christmas lunch. With a bill of $180 for 2-courses for the 3 of us I expected the very best and was totally disappointed with a very low quality meal.
The steak was burnt on the outside, it was cooked on too high a heat and left a burnt taste in your mouth, and the vegetables were dry and obviously cooked some time previously. This is not the gourmet cooking that is advertised.
The views are spectacular but do not make up for the dreadful standard of cooking and the over-priced menu. The meal put a huge downer on the family Christmas celebration. This may sound rather harsh but the cost demands something special that this place does not provide. On the positive the live mucisian was excellent. [07 Jan 2008 02:20:36]
