All I can say is WOW Fantastic food, resin table and chairs, a real sleeper. Don't blink, you might miss it. Make reservations. If you go to the big island, DO NOT miss this restaurant! [29 Jun 2003 18:56:59]

Best We've Experienced in Kona Region We have lived near Kailua-Kona for nearly a year and only now discovered this wonderful little restaurant with food that would satisfy the most discriminating gourmands of Europe.
It is a must for anyone visiting this area (or living here)! [25 Aug 2003 02:32:34]

Dreadful service Been wanting to come here for many years, but the old location was too far away. Finally got to go to the new location. Great food, nice ambiance, but some of the worst service anywhere. Slow, slow, slow at lunch when they were not very crowded. The guy who seated us gave us only one menu for two people; we ordered beers, which took 20 minutes to arrive (meaning among other things they didn't get to sell us another beer); food came after another 15 or 20 minutes. Truly no excuse, since we came in early (around 11:30 a.m.) and few were there. The waitress did not know much about the food either. They need more help, but in addition to the quantity, the need to improve quality. More inept waitpeople won't do it. [20 Jul 2004 20:54:35]

Better than they are saying We've eaten at Keei Cafe on two recent visits to the Big Island and the food has been exceptional on both visits; one of the best wine lists in the area. It's true, they don't seat you at the appointed time of your reservation, but once seated the service isn't nearly as negative as some of the reviewers have said. This place is swamped by locals, not tourists, so clearly they are doing something right. We are recommending it to all of our friends, and intend to go there at least once on each future visit. But as someone said, don't blink or you'll miss it. If you want more peace and quite, make your reservation after 8:30. [16 Jan 2006 22:50:00]

Gonna give it one more try As a long time local resident (11 years now), I've eaten at the old establishment, been to the new one twice now, both times was really disappointed with the service and the food. I'm giving it one more try today for lunch. Either the third time will be a charm or I'm crossing it off my list. [29 Jan 2007 15:38:42]

So bad we walked out After waiting 50 minutes at a table, with only a glass of water offered (waiter never took a drink order), the waiter walked over with three slices of bread for us to "nibble" on while we waited. Nibble it would have been as there were six of us at the table! When I remarked that we had already waited almost an hour, he walked away without a word of any kind. We walked out.
