Worst Dine-in Restaurant Experience Ever!!! My family and I were intent on having a pleasant sit-down family dinner recently at a small, but comfortable and above-average Filipino Restaurant in Ewa. We have never had dinner there before and our few trips there for breakfast in the past were satisfactory. To our disappointment, our family dinner was a very unpleasant experience. From the minute we walked in the door, we were ignored. There were no greeting of any kind. There was no sign asking us to wait to be seated. We stood there looking around, figuring out what to do next and asking if we needed to seat ourselves or wait at the door. We figured we needed to seat ourselves when no direct answer was given. We were directed to a table only after we were told that the booth we headed for was reserved. My family preferred to sit at a booth instead of a table, so I inquired about the possibility of it becoming available in case of a cancellation or no-show. The answer I received was a vague one. The waitress simply stated that all they knew is that the booth was reserved, but that they did't know what time it was for or if the people were still coming. Another waitress took our order after 5 to 10 minutes of sitting. Although she had a soft voice, she wore no expression of courtiousness, and instead looked annoyed at special requests we made. At that point, we had not yet had one person smile at us, greet us, or ask how we were doing. My son's order came out wrong and I had brought it to the attention of the waitress. She said nothing, but took the plate back to the kitchen to be redone. When the corrected order came out, she did not respond at all to both me and my son's "thank you". At that point, we, but especially I felt quite uncomfortable despite the impressive atmosphere. The food turned out to be disappointing as a couple of dishes were too greasy, one too bland and unexpected, and the other so overcooked it tasted and felt like jerky. Only one of the five dishes was decent considering the above-average price-range. The icing on the cake of disappointment came when after receiving the bill, I inquired about the details of a coupon that I had used that night. The first waitress attempted to explain it, but couldn't, so she urged the second waitress to explain things. The second waitress does not do a better job at explaining than the first and is less patient, so she shows her frustration by snatching the bill out of my hands and complains to the manager or owner. The discussion is not kept discreet and is audible from where I sit thereby making it even more uncomfortable. I sat patiently awaiting a clear explanation when the manager/owner approached me in an offensive manner as he tried to defend his staff and establishment. I alerted him of his rude tone of voice and his unmannerly insinuations in hopes that he would become more objective toward the situation and lower his tone. I explained further that the inquiry was merely to clarify a misunderstanding I had about the details of the coupon, which I needed to know for future reference, and not a direct insult to him. My efforts failed. It just fueled his disrespectful approach to customer service even more. Being quite disappointed, I then just asked to pay for the check and leave, when he and his waitresses proceeded to make obnoxious statements. As I maintained my composure, I vocalized my deep feeling of upset. More disheartening words were said by him and his staff, which you can liken to the taunting of one teenage girl by a group of teenage girls. It was such an awful experience, I had no choice but to be the better person and maintain my civility even as they yelled insults from accross the restaurant as I exited the establishment. The actions of the owner/manager and his staff indicated they significantly lack the fundamental skill of customer service, which is synonymous of professionalism. Even if the food was exceptional, I wouldn't trade it for such inferior customer service. [27 Sep 2006 07:19:48]

Excellent Food This place has the best Filipino food on the island, perhaps even the whole state. Everything is made fresh, so I don't mind waiting a little longer for the food to come out. Like the saying goes, "Quality takes Time." The crispy pata is the bomb. You get good value for your money.
Cleanliness - I can tell that the owner takes pride in keeping his restaurant clean. You don't see dirty spots on the floor, counters, etc. The decor is nice too.
And you gotta try the Adobo Fried Rice Omlette! [29 Dec 2006 13:39:52]

Food is excellent! I tried their Adobo fried rice because friends recommended it and it was really very good. I tried the crispy pata too, dinuguan, beefsteak tagalog and squid guisado and all came out excellent, their recipes are authentic Filipino. The pinakbet is cooked fresh and the vegetables crunchy not like in other Filipino restaurants where everything looks pre-cooked and the left-overs are served the next day and the next...prices are reasonable too considering the place is very clean and well-maintained, its the best so far when it comes to taste, service and cleanliness.
