Not just for locals Everything about Tahiti Nui is fabulous. Everyone there is courteous and friendly. The Hawaiian plate is filled with delicious local recipes. They also make a great mai-tai. I only wish we had found it sooner. [20 Oct 2003 14:26:46]

Will success spoil Tahiti Nui? Located at the beginning of the "Commercial" district of Hanalei, Tahiti Nui has seemingly purposefully languished in the shadows of the popular eateries and watering holes of the islands. Although the food is certainly well worth the trip to the North Shore, it is the ritual of "Mai Tai at Tahiti Nui" that is it's real claim to fame. And well earned! It is a tradition cut of the same cloth as pupus at the Royal or watching for the green flash on the deck of the Outrigger Canoe Club. Traditions of this quality aren't pop culture, they are born of good reason and strong local "insider" support, only to be "discovered". The only disappointment to Tahiti Nui, but probably the reality that protects the tradition, is the long, dark and somewhat foreboding drive back to Poipu along Kuhio Hwy. After dark that cautions the T.N. patron to moderate their enjoyment. [23 Jan 2004 17:44:53]

Who says there's no night life on Kauai? If you're on the North Shore, and looking for something to do on a Sunday evening after 5pm when everything else appears to be closed, head on over to the Tahiti Nui, order a Mai Tai, and kick back. Both the staff and the patrons are friendly, the drinks are drinky, and the food is tops. [28 Aug 2004 01:34:51]

You Never Know Who Might Be There. This is my favorite spot on the north shore to kick back. They have a variety of entertainment throught the week and you never know what celebs you might be sitting next to. I have met several Hollywood stars that were as laid back as I was. [05 Jan 2007 13:29:35]

Truly Heaven My husband and I bring up Tahiti Nui at least once a week and wistfully wish we were there. Can't wait to go again. [08 Aug 2007 00:36:52]
