Kula Lodge is a joke
I had a disasterous experience at the Kula Lodge Restaurant. The food is way over priced and not even edible. They were out of everything on the menu even fruit IN MAUI! Come on. There was termite dust all over my table & it took over 45 minutes to receive cold food. I would not recommend the restaurant for a good dining experience. An experience not to be missed
Kula Lodge is nestled on the slopes of Haleakala and is well worth a stop for breakfast. Having lived on Maui, this was my favorite place to bring visitors and a gathering place for friends. The eggs benedict are "too die for". Kick back and enjoy the view while dining then take the time to stroll thru their beautiful gardens. Check out the beautiful front stained glass windows and have your picture taken by the fireplace - it's real wood burning, not a gas fake fire. Avoid Dinner at Kula
Went there as Maui Revealed had given them an Ono. No bread, even the water was bad. Only one fish on the menu which didn't sound all that great, so went for the steak, which was overcooked (mine only medium, ordered medium rare, but husbands was medium well when ordered medium rare). Waitress incorrectly described desserts, which came dressed with Cool Whip (or something similar, but not real whipped cream) and Hersheys syrup. All and all really bad and much to expensive. Kamaaina will not return to Kula Lodge
This restaurant I agree with the last reviewer should be avoided. My friend and I live here on Maui our whole lives and tonite had dinner at the Kula Lodge. Never again. The menu is overpriced and the service sloooooooow! Our reservations was at 7:30 and we were seated on time. We had to wait at least 10 minutes for the waitress. We ordered salad to share and received that at 8:25 any longer and we would have left. During dinner the cook was having a breakdown. He came out and threatened to quit! All the while we could hear this conversation going on! He was also yelling that they were out of ribs and ribs on the menu is #86 and not #87!. For the price that you pay, the place has no class! I've lived on Maui my whole life and I've never experienced this in any other restaurant! As a service to all you visitors save your money and the embarrasment!    [10 Sep 2006 04:01:27]
