Dishonest and unfriendly service - we will never ever go back
My husband went to lunch with his officemates at Cool Basil yesterday. His entree was priced at $6.95, his group was 8 people in total. He was the first one to arrive and the waiter asked my husband to have the group agree to not to ask for individual bills because the restaurant gets really busy at lunch time. Well, his group still prefers to have individual bills. The waiter then said he cannot help them with the bills, they just have to pay at the front desk. That was fine with the group. The food was OK. Not much service at all.
When my husband was paying his bill, the lady ringing up his bill told him the bill was $8.62. My husband thought that was a little more than he expected, so he asked the lady that if entree was $6.95. She replied yes and said $8.62 is $6.95 plus tax. The tax rate is only 6%, it should only be $7.37. The restaurant added automatic tips of 17%, without telling my husband, even after he questioned them. My husband unknowingly tipped them again, so the restaurant got tipped twice (total 36%) for lousy service and arrogant attitude. Unbelievable!!!!! Good Food, Friendly Service
We have had totally helpful service at Cool Basil's, both for large groups, where our group bill was itemized, and for our single family.
The service for our allergy-sensitive family has been some of the best we have found, and we have been delighted with every meal we have ordered. Choose an entree of food that you like. It will be prepared with fresh ingredients, and arrive with clean, fresh taste.
