Calamity Jayne's, Idaho City, Idaho
It may have been just a bad day to drop into this quaint and small eatery on the corner of the Main in Idaho City. The food was very good, with generous portions. HOWEVER; The following did NOT set well with me:

1. Only 1 cook who looked very flustered and was working feverishly to complete the orders.
2. The waitresses were very young and did not offer to fill my coffee cup. The waitress who was filling the glass with Coke for my husband's order left the filled glass at the fountain and did not return to it for several minutes. The waitresses were too busy socializing with other 'known' patrons who were regulars of the town. It was as if the true tourists were not of any importance.
3. One of the waitresses, while dishing out a bowl of gravy, got gravy on her finger. She quickly flicked the gravy from off of her finger back into the gravy container. This was NOT acceptable in my eyes!

The food, as I said, was good and there was plenty of it. The 'help' was not of much help at all! This was the prime tourist season and I was not impressed the service here at all!    [07 Jul 2007 17:47:25]
