Very displeased with the food My girlfriend and I recently were looking for a great place to have dinner in the area. My family earlier in the week decided to visit your restaurant and were very displeased with the quality of your food. I thought maybe that it could just be a one time occurrence. I have heard good things about your restaurant in the past so I ignored their opinions and made reservations for your place. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the cocktails I got at the bar waiting for my table that I reserved (hmm). So finally we were escorted to our table and we were greeted by one of your waiters in a very unenthusiastic manner. We ordered an appetizer of your calamari which we both found to be chewy and rubber like. And on to our main entree. She order your filet mignon and I ordered your strip steak (both are not cheap steaks). Both steaks were both same in taste, bland and tasteless. So furthermore I probably do not find a good reason to visit your store again because I can get a better steak for less the price at Lonestar or Outback. [16 Mar 2003 15:47:36]

If you want service Food was very good, but the service was not. Visited on our 23rd anniversary and was seated in the small room to the left of the entrance. There were two large parties there and it was very noisy. We finished our appetizer and waited for drink refills that never came. I went to the hostess and asked if we could be moved to the main dining room. She said it would not be a problem. While we moved the waiter took our salads to the original table. Ten minutes later he came to our table and asked if we wanted our salads? We said yes. The rest of the meal went ok. I talked to the manager on duty and he was not very much help. I would go back for the food, but I would consider the service problem first. [25 May 2003 21:43:12]

Not a problem Here We usually go to Jimmy's twice a year as a group since our work is nearby. We have always had outstanding service and the food is awesome! I have not a had a bad experience there yet. The food portions are huge!!! I usually get the shrimp alfredo and take most of it home. [14 Jan 2004 15:59:14]

Great Place! I always have a very pleasant experience at Jimmy's. I find the food & drinks to be very satisfying. The service is not only good but friendly too. Alot of the time there is a wait, but everytime it's worth it! [09 Feb 2004 01:12:45]

My Favorite Restaurant Ever since you have opened your doors my family and I have been coming to your restaurant. I have always found your service to be great and profesional. The one thing that I do not like is that it seems to be a long wait on the weekends for a table but I understand that you try your best to seat people as soon as possible. I love the bread and the salads that you serve before your meals. Overall everything from the seafood to the steaks have always been excellent and the pasta dishes are a must. [26 Feb 2004 23:03:53]

nice I was impressed with the service I had the last time I had visited, plus they informed me of some new chef that has an excellent combination that gives the food great taste. I will be there again. [16 Apr 2004 16:54:09]

No Spices As posted ealier, your meat is tasteless. Have you ever hear of garlic, fresh ground pepper and salt? Tell Jimmy to spice up the kitchen manager. Oh and also, hire more personable people. Your staff is at the point of rudeness. [10 May 2004 13:09:14]

Excellent This has to be one of the nicest restaurants I’ve seen in a long time. The surrounding is beautiful, very detailed and very clean. The food is reasonably priced, and the portions are huge, definitely not skimpy like the price. The server was very nice, attentive, and well dressed. I’d definitely go back. [01 Mar 2005 19:29:52]

Service is SAD! Food was OK. Waitress had a bad attitude. We complained to the manager who had a worse attitude. Service is the worst I've ever had. I will not go back. [06 Oct 2005 17:13:51]

Some people are just too picky! I used to live near the Elgin Location. We went there on a regular basis. The food is reasonably priced for the amount of food you receive. You always get homemade bread, a large side salad, and two sides with every meal. The food is great! First of all, with the steaks, you can order it any way you like it. You can order it Al Forno if you like spices. Once in a while I get a NY Strip with freshly chopped garlic. Normally I like my steaks plain with no spices. I hate it when someone puts black pepper on my steaks. If I wanted pepper on it, I would shake some myself. Lazy people annoy me. The vegetables are steamed to perfection, and the pasta dishes are just something to be seen. A single pasta dish can easily feed 2-3 people.
The wait staff has always been courteous and non-intrusive. In my eyes, I like a waitstaff that just serves you food, and leaves you alone to spark a romantic atmosphere. The ambiance is unique, and I love the high ceilings and brick. Very warm and cozy.
I have made reservations there, and have also walked in. In both scenarios, the wait was never long enough to be uncomfortable. I usually avoid going on nights when I knew it would be packed. You can't blame people for wanting to go here, it's the best restaurant in a few towns. [30 Dec 2005 14:28:11]
