Lexington's Best Kept Secret!
Don't let the wacky handmade store front keep you from sampling the delicious popular menu choices that Bistro 147 offers. Although located directly across from the new courthouses, the cozy dining room is rarely crowded and I cannot figure out why. The prices run lower than average for this area of town - lunch for my party of four was about $20. Each of us had a sandwich and a side and drank water. I recommend trying the homemade fried potatoes - thin and crunchy, lightly salted warm chips....ummmmmmmmm. The help ain't bad, either. The waiter and the cook are consistently friendly and the service is FAST! woo hold it right there. I may need to stick my foot in my mouth. I just got served some junk at Bistro 147, I ordered a fried oyster appetizer and was served some yucky prebreaded junk also I especially was wanting their wonderfully huge cheeseburger with the curley crispy bacon. Well it comes to the table looking a lttle puny and with no bacon . If I had known they were out of bacon I could have ordered something else or maybe I should have gone someplace else altogether. Also the last time I ordered the coconut shrimp they were heavily breaded and nowhere near as good as they normally are so be sure and ask, the chef said business had been a little off .dah. I wonder why?. I think he is getting slack and as long as no one complains he just slops it out, needless to say I am not going to darken the doorway for a while. Small Setting, Big Dishes
One of many French restaurants in Lexington that caters towards bistro-style eating. This one accomplishes a classic taste, paired with a unique cozy setting.
