Watch out or you will be addicted to this place
The moment you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and the ambiance really tells you that you are in a right place. My favorite is red room with fire place. Its really difficult to describe until you, yourself, experience it. Its the best Indian restaurant in Lexington. Best of luck "Rip" Keep up the good work    [17 Dec 2003 09:48:25]

If You Like Authentic Indian Food...
You will love this place. Nice setting, quiet and romantic, but the food is what really shines! So many choices, so little time. Try the lentil soup, black and yellow are great. Can't make up your mind, try one of Rips combo's. We'll be back again and again!    [12 Feb 2004 11:27:30]

For the very first time me and my girl friend decided to go to Bombay Brazier for valentine dinner, and Oh my god I don't have the words to describe the service and treatment we got "the moment we stepped inside." My girl friend was greeted with a long stem rose and a we were escorted to a very tastefully decorated Red Room and seated next to the Fire Place by a very friendly and very well mannered server. The Red Room was decorated with Valentines balloons, millions of red hearts on windows, tables and scented candles everywhere, It was so romantic.
After we were seated, fresh tossed salad with tomato spinach soup was served with complimentary glass of champagne. My girlfriend was thrilled to see red ribbons tied to champagne glasses. From a special valentine dinner menu we choose Fish Tikka Masala (Fresh Salmon, marinated in yogurt and spices and baked in oven and then simmered in sweet and sour cream sauce) and Veg Vindaloo (assorted vegetables cooked in tomato and vinegar sauce with potatoes ) followed by the garlic bread and a serving of rice and dessert.(rice pudding) All this for $40 only was a steal. My girlfriend was impressed that I choose a classy place like Bombay Brazier to have our Valentine Dinner. Keep it Up Guys. We will be back and will tell every body we know of this, on of a kind experience we had. Last but least i hate to say this "why other Indian restaurants in the neighborhood be like Bombay, or at least learn from Bombay the meaning of service, quality, and ambiance."    [21 Feb 2004 09:43:32]

the best in Ky
It was our first visit to this Indian joint which came highly recommended by some our friends. And to tell you the truth we were impressed. Every minor detail, from staff to atmosphere and food to music is very well planned. Colors, furniture, paintings, swords and lastly the monkey lamps, shows the delightful taste and class. Our server was very helpful in choosing the dinner entrees, and we liked his "Accent" and he is very well mannered, educated, and informative about the menu. Based on our server's suggestions we ordered Cornish hen (a whole game bird baked on skewers in tandoor and served with sauteed onions and bell peppers very nicely presented garnished with cilantro and apples) and to tell you the truth, it tasted better then it was presented. Similarly other dishes were also exceptional. I think Bombay Brazier is definitely the best Indian restaurant in Lexington.    [03 Apr 2004 11:09:52]

Hey dudes,
I am an Indian and all the reviews here are by Americans, or goras as we refer to them meaning white...
well friends, I think that this place reminds me of Bombay...the place from where I came to this city about 3 years ago.
I have frequented this restaurant from the time they started because the name itself was attractive and make sure that you read the back of the cover on the menu of Bombay B, this is what we have in the city of Bombay..such food..splendid in taste...and quickly made...
Though, I have lost some of my tolerance for hot food after eating all those chicken tenders that I eat here, I still love the food at BB...and if you really want to taste the Bombay taste, order your food hot...NOT Indian hot for most of you American friends....
The food, the ambience, the service and the good location are all part of the reason why you should visit this place...
I especially recommend the Chicken Kolhapuri, and the Chicken Makhanvala (Butter Chicken or Chicken Makhni as it is refered to on the Menus of Indian restaurants in the US)... the Kolhapuri is a really spicy and HOT dish with preserved taste which will linger long after the HOT taste is gone....and the Chicken Makhni is one of the most flavorful and rich recipes which is absolutely not HOT....
for deserts, EVERYTHING is wonderful... though I havent eaten all the deserts at BB, judging from the few that I have, this should be a delight for all you guys with a sweet tooth and those who want to balance the HOT taste with something to cool you off..
About Wines, try the Indian Beers...especially King Fisher, which comes from GOA, the paradise city in India closest to lifestyle in KanKoon..another one is White Horse which comes from Chicago...
I definitely recommend this place to all my Gora friends...a must go !!    [22 May 2004 22:41:08]

As good, if not better, than Indian Restaurants in London England
My wife and I are new to Lexington, and given the city's small size, were very concerned that we could find good restaurants here. Bombay Brazier was certainly a treat- not just because it quelled our concerns, but because it is truly one of the finest Indian restaurants at which we've ever dined. We've traveled all over the world, and having dined in some of the best Indian restaurants in London, I can tell you that there exists no Indian restaurant in London that is better than the Bombay Brazier. (For those that may not know, outside of India, London is likely the best source for Indian cuisine).

My wife and I have dined here several times- ask the waiter to surprise you with a selection of Indian drinks to start your evening. You'll be very glad you did. For those new to Indian cuisine, order the appetizer sampler. For dinner, we've tried the Chicken Marsala (very good), Lamb Curry (EXCELLENT), and many of the Okra dishes. The Vegan entrees are the finest in town.    [28 Aug 2004 19:12:26]

Very Average
Well, we had read a lot of reviews and visited Bombay Brazier with a certain level of expectation. We didn't know that their American version of hot food was sprinkling mirchi powder in the curry after it has been cooked. We have been to many Indian restaurants, across the country. To be very honest, the food was not appealing at all and made us sick for 2 days. This is the first time we ever felt sick after eating in an Indian restaurant in the US.

Moreover, 14th being a Valentine's Day, the prices were hiked but the food was not worth the bill.It is worth spending that amount if the ambiance and the food is good. This is not the way Indian restaurants are meant to be!!!!!!

My intention of giving an honest feedback is not to give a wrong message to other people, but to probably make you realize that this is not expected from an Indian Restaurant overseas.
Hot food doesn't mean sprinkling red chili powder after the curry is made.
We visit u guys coz' of the fact that we want to taste authentic Indian food away from home. Not once but many a times.
Well, our recent experience has made us apprehensive about revisiting Bombay Brazier again.

It depends on u whether u would like to take this as a feedback or trash it.    [16 Feb 2005 16:59:21]

Nasty food as well as rude service
The vegetables served in this restaurant did not seem fresh, almost as if they were frozen at one time. Our food was cold, when we told our server he gave us a dirty look and upon his return practically threw the food back on our table with no further regard for the quality.    [20 Mar 2005 22:40:32]
