Description
Longhorn's is a western-style steakhouse complete with western decor, table and booth seating, and a bar in the back. Specialty of the house is steak, but the menu also includes pork, chicken, shrimp and salmon. Prices are moderate to high, but the portions are large.

Never Heard a Bad Word I've never heard anyone who's eaten at Longhorn offer anything but high praise. We've only eaten there during lunchtime, but the place generally has a moderate amount of people there. Still, the wait staff is attentive and manage to get it right every time. The place is clean and the servers are neatly dressed. The only thing that I don't care for is the country music playing in the background, but that's a matter of personal music bias...
Interestingly, we've never had the steaks! But the salmon and shrimp dishes are outstanding, with the salmon cooked to perfection and served with rice pilaf and your choice of another side. They also serve up a salmon salad, which is a huge green salad with an equally large grilled salmon fillet gracing the top. The sandwiches are outstanding as well. One unique offering is a crab cake sandwich. The crabcake is very rich and very large--almost too much to get through, but it's worth the try.
There is also a varied appetizer menu. The two standouts are the Texas Tonion and Firecracker Chicken Wraps. The Texas cheese fries are tasty, too.
Dessert? Well, after the portions that Longhorn serves up, it's nearly impossible to hold dessert. But the fried cheesecake is unusual and habit forming. If you're a chocoholic with a friend, get the chocolate stampede to share.
Don't let the Steakhouse moniker hold you back. Longhorn has a bit of something for everyone. [12 Oct 2004 01:35:04]
