Description

Founded in 1716, the menu at this inn offers classic New England dishes, with a focus on seafood. Reservations are required for high tea on weekends.

There are actually two separate dining rooms - the more formal Merchants Row Restaurant, and the more casual Liberty Restaurant - serving the same menu. A third room, The Village Forge Tavern, also serves the same menu, and offers live entertainment.

Great $10 Burger While the Music Makes the Night
Catch an act and enjoy a great bar burger. Excellent fries, good selection of ports.    [06 Dec 2003 14:59:37]

Have a Haddock
Excellent service from very professional but approachably friendly waitstaff. Good array of quality entrees and appetizers. Squash soup was subtle and delicious. The Haddock was tastefully seasoned with good texture. The portion was sizable. Sumptuous atmosphere with many antiques. Cramped bathroom; may be difficult access for mobility challenged. Good for dining alone or in group.    [23 May 2004 15:12:13]
