Good Food - Awful Service
The decor, pulling up to the front of the remodeled Hartwell House was impressive. As we entered, the inside was beautiful, reminding us of Boston steak houses - dark wood and leather.

We ordered our drinks before dinner and had to send them back - the white wine spritzer had no wine in it and the Mojito had tonic water in it instead of club soda. Terrible mistakes!

We ordered dinner and the appetizers. Salads were tasty; however it took over half an hour to get them. The dinner appeared 1 hour and 45 minutes after we ordered. We were hungry, angry and frustrated. We complained to no avail to the owner and waitress. The management didn't offer any comps - some display of care would have been received with gratitude. (We saw friends who were dining there that night too - they were seated at 6:30 and just finishing at 10:00 - they complained of slow service too.)

When the food did arrive, we thought it was very good, but the service ruined the meal. With prices this high, the service should match. We get better service at much less expensive restaurants, so we will not be back!    [06 Jul 2006 08:20:26]

Poor Service - Good Food
Recently ate dinner there. While the food was good, the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for our dinner. For a pricey restaurant, the service lacked any sophistication. We will not be back.    [11 Jul 2006 12:09:22]

My wife and I went there to celebrate our anniversary a couple weeks ago. The service wasn't bad...a little slow but not too bad. The food was fantastic and we both enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant itself. It is a fairly new place, so I'm sure it'll get the kinks out eventually.    [09 Aug 2006 15:35:53]
