Description

The Barking Dog is a friendly neighborhood tavern located 1.5 blocks from the metro and close to many parking facilities.

Hand carved mahogany, mirrors and brass set the first floor while a lounge area with dance floor and large bar definre the second floor. Plans are underway for a tiki bar room deck for spring 2004. "The Dog" ia a great place to relax after work, after a game or to view sporting events on one of eleven TVs featuring two big screens. Most popular times are the $2 beer and $5 burger nights, weekends with DJs and occasional live local music.

There are party facilities for groups from 25 - 300 guests. Lunch is served Monday thru Saturday, full menu until 10 pm and late night menu until close, with food and drink specials daily.

Go for the burgers
I've been here a few times, usually for the Tuesday evening burger special.

Ground floor is ordinary pub decor with a few tables on the side. Personally, I hate televisions blaring at me while I'm having a meal, and had to keep my TV zapper at the ready. Otherwise, the burgers are quite tasty, the potato salad ditto, the fries aren't bad, the service is friendly and competent if occasionally hard to find when you aren't sitting at the bar, and the price is right.    [29 Jun 2006 03:10:33]
