utterly dissappointing food and service
seemed like a pallid and half-hearted attempt to imitate french food. just about every dish
poorly seasoned or prepared: escargot, onion
soup, lamb with soupy sauce and canned
mushrooms, overdone tastless halibut, somewhat off-tasting baked mussels, barely dressed and unpalatable beet and asparagus salad. even the
bread was mushy. Stale tastless profiteroles with
vanilla ice cream kept to long in freezer for
desert. poor service - not offered cofee with
desert and given soup spoons with desert. found
myself apologizing all through dinner for my
restaurant choice. better a tasty $20 pizza than
this pretentious excuse for a bad meal. A large private party was going on in the other half of the restaurant; perhaps this distracted the kitchen. I won't risk a return isit to find out    [11 May 2006 22:22:08]
