Description
At the end of a strip mall in a space once occupied by another establishment, called the Grand Marquis. Also, don't confuse this with the "Olney Ale House" in Sandy Spring. The new owner and chef of this restaurant is bringing a combination of moderately priced American-French-Italian dishes to the table, and providing entertainment on weekends. The restaurant seats about 50, but has an attached "bar" that seats almost as many.

Good Food and Live Entertainment I enjoyed a delightful brunch at the Olney Tavern this morning, complete with live acoustic music by guitarist Jim Turner.
The food was fabulous and the attentive wait staff is to be commended for creating a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere. I wasn't aware of this new restaurant in town until someone recommended their burgers, and I decided to check it out. It was great! []

Commendable dinner at reasonable price There are two halves to this restaurant.
On one side is a popular and lively bar that is obviously providing what the 20-something patrons want - drinks with a pretty good selection of snack foods, and TV for background entertainment.
On the other side, and separated by a solid and pretty soundproof wall, is a restaurant with an ecclectic menu of reasonably priced dishes. It is also quite popular, and deservedly so. The cleintelle in this case is mostly families and groups of people slightly older than on the bar side of the wall. They come for the food, which is consistently good. [11 Mar 2007 20:16:32]

Great place to eat I have been to The Olney Tavern numerous times with my family to eat and the food is amazing! I have never had a bad dish there. The employees are so nice and friendly. They make you feel like you are right at home.
They have come a long way to get away from the old reputation of the restaurant that used to occupy the space. Don't let old assumptions fool you. If you haven't been there ever or it has been a while go in and have a meal. Everything is good! [03 Sep 2007 18:01:16]

The Best Place to eat for MILES The Olney Tavern is by far the best place to truly enjoy yourself. Whether you are with the family (kids too) and knosh on one of their many homemade delights or relax at the bar with your friends, you won't be disappointed. The staff is polite, attentive and make fabulous suggestions when asked their menu favorites. If you're in the mood for some live music, they've got you covered. Check out their website. They have their entertainment schedule listed so you can plan your nights.
Check it out. You'll be surprised how at home you feel. [23 Sep 2008 20:48:24]
