SIMPLY THE BEST!
I am a "diner" aficianado! I can't drive by a diner without giving it a close inspection. From New York state south, the Doubl T's are the very best!Perhaps I'll be able to talk my bride into having our 50th wedding anniversary celebration at one of their shops. Wish they would come to our part of the world. My life would then be complete!

not that good
Why don't people know good food anymore?
This stuff is awful!
It ain't cheap either. Diners are supposed to be cheap and homemade. These places are frozen foods and very expensive. The menu stated that you couldn't purchase a child's portion unless the kid was with you! JEEZ! Imagine McD's telling you that you can't buy a happy meal without the kid in the car! Also I went there for a quiet lunch on a Sunday and they had two TV sets blaring a football game! PUH-LEEZE.    [18 Nov 2002 14:32:58]

Absolutely Fabulous!
I was in Baltimore (Glen Burnie) this past week visiting a friend and we stopped in at the Double T for a late lunch on Wednesday. Well, we were absolutely thrilled with our meal. My friend had a breakfast and I had the Chicken Scallopini. I have never had such a fabulous meal. The taste was incredible and lingers in my mind even now. My friend was delighted with his meal as well.

Now that I am back home in Missouri, I regret not returning to the Double T to enjoy that meal again before leaving Maryland. Oh, and the service was superb. I am not sure of the exact location we visited, but it was next to an auto glass store.

I would love to know how the Chicken Scallopini with scallions and asparagus over rice, is made. I will definitely visit the Double T when I travel to Maryland again.

Thank you for one of the finest culinary experiences of my life.

It occurred to me that most reviews are from people that were either thrilled or disgusted. I'll make some waves. I ate at a Double T, they had a really big variety of food but the little jukeboxes on the tables were all hooked up to each other. I played the wrong Creedence Clearwater Revival song (hey tonight) and it played on every table. I felt dirty. Food was ok and all and all it was pleasant.    [17 Apr 2003 02:35:21]

The food is OK, but their Chicken Noodle Soup with some of their homemade bread is absolutely the best!    [07 Sep 2003 16:25:40]

Depends on who you talk to.
The little womans american fare of a cheesesteak w/fries were great by her account, but my Italian food tasted like Greek food. I've heard that breakfast fare is superb, and the the baked goods are dangerously good.    [29 Mar 2005 23:35:21]

A rating of this restaurant from somebody who knows what he's talking about.
I've noticed that a lot of these reviews are written by people who've got absolutely no clue just what in the flying crap they are talking about. I've been going to this restaurant since my earliest days as a child, and I've always been happy with the food, people, and the good times I've had there. I'm actually at this restaurant at least once a week, usually chatting with some friends over some sodas and fries. The waiters are very friendly, the food is inexpensive and comes in large portions, and it's all quite tasty. It's definitely not a fancy restaurant. It doesn't need to be. It's a good, simple diner. Great for picking up some eats at any hour of the day or night. I happen to be a vegetarian (Though I still eat fish), so the large selection of salads and seafood dishes allows me a large variety of foods to eat. On that topic, the menus are HUGE. There are many choices of foods, including sandwiches, meals, breakfasts, and even a large selection of desserts, all of which are prepared on the premesis. The usual time I visit is at night, usually for the sheer pleasure of hanging out with friends. The awesome thing is that they don't care how long you stay or how much you eat. Usually we'll just have fries and soda, sometimes coffee, and we'll simply all sit around and talk, enjoying ourselves. They simply don't mind if you do things like that. They are all very nice people. The service is friendly, and also fast. Usually you will have your food about ten minutes after ordering. The food is, by no means, outstanding; however it is not at all mediocre. It is tasty, and there is a lot of it. A nice little touch to the place would be the jukeboxes. Nearly every booth has a little jukebox. You put in a few quarters, and you get to play music. They're all connected, so everyone hears the music that's played. This means that you will be subjected to others' taste in music, and you can subject them to your own. Mostly, the selections consist of classic rock and oldies. If you don't like the music, you can simply turn it down by hitting the switch. Another nice thing about the atmosphere is the chrome. There is a lot of chrome to be found in this restaurant. Many surfaces are shiny, and it can just be fun to look at.

All in all, it's a great place to frequent. It's known to be a popular late-night hangout among the youth of the surrounding area because of its inexpensive food and friendly atmosphere, plus it's right on Route 2 where it's easy to find. If you've not been there, and yet you live in the area, then shame on you. Give this place a visit for your next lunch break or dinner or whatever.
