Come for the food, not for the service
The food is great. It's nothing fancy, and it does not need to be. They make their bread fresh and their soups from scratch. However, the service can...stink. I've never had a server that was attentive. It's too bad. Because (as I've said) their food is great.    [12 May 2003 00:23:44]

A party of us went and had a great time at McGarrys. The food was great, prices fair and service good even though they were very busy we received excellent service.    [07 Jan 2007 21:02:15]

yer right, no service... except at the bar!
What other bar has Boddingtons on tap? Long live the bee. And yes, the food is flippin' amazing. Check out the homemade stews and shepherds holy crap I can't stop eating these pies. I would consider my family regulars, and the best service we (including my 3yr old) have had is from the bartender.    [23 Jan 2007 17:58:27]
